QPP is built on a strong foundation of being the first Plating On Plastics company in the UK. Formed in 1965 as Plated Plastic Developments, in 1991 the company was bought by the Qualtronic Group and added to their finishing division operating on two sites in Tipton and Great Barr, specialising in electromagnetic shielding and decorative plating.

We strengthened our operations by launching an in-house moulding facility, giving us full control over quality and output
The introduction of an Auto Dose System refined our satin chrome plating, ensuring precise colour consistency
Our capabilities broadened with the addition of exterior chrome plating, offering even greater finishing flexibility
A year later saw the arrival of 2K Moulding Machines, enabling the production of complex, multi-material components
Our journey continued with the opening of a dedicated paint facility, delivering technical coatings, premium chrome effect finishes, and lacquer over chrome plated finishes
New 800t and 1100t moulding machines expanded our moulding capacity to meet growing customer demand
A £750K plating line extension allowed us to offer advanced Trivalent CR3 Bright, Satin, and Dark Chrome finishes
We enhanced our in-house laboratory with state-of-the-art testing equipment, deepening our expertise in dark chrome development
The launch of QPP Precision Tooling & Engineering marked a major step forward – bringing injection tool design and manufacturing fully in-house
We reached a new milestone with the commissioning of Europe’s newest plating line, offering full CR3 and CR6 capability
